Carroll Hires Coach for New Golf Program

Starting in Spring 2023, Carroll expands its Athletic Program by fielding an intercollegiate golf team that will compete in Division II of the NJCAA. The foundations for the program have already been laid with the hiring of accomplished golf coach Kevin Piecewicz.

“Golf is my passion,” said Piecewicz, “and I’ve made it my life’s work. The opportunity to help build the golf program and be the head coach at one of the nation’s top community colleges is an absolute dream come true.”

“We are very excited to be adding golf to the sports we offer at the College,” said Dr. James D. Ball, President of Carroll Community College. “Our Lynx Athletics program not only boosts school pride, but it also builds successful student-athletes who will carry what they’ve learned at Carroll into their lives going forward.”

Piecewicz has spent the past three years as the varsity golf coach at Century High School, where he coached a number of players to the state tournament and to Carroll County Times All-County First Team selections.

“Having coached in Carroll Country for the past three years and seen the talent level here,” continued Piecewicz, “I’m confident that I can put together a strong team of eight to ten players.” Five players are needed to compete in each scheduled event.

As a student at Triton Regional High School in Byfield, MA, Piecewicz was twice voted their golf team’s MVP, was its team captain and graduated with the highest winning percentage in school’s history. He currently works as a golf instructor at Graves Golf Academy, traveling around the country operating golf groups and offering private lessons.

Piecewicz is dedicated to giving back to the sport he loves. “There are a lot of high school golfers who probably never thought of playing in college,” he said. “If I can play a small part in helping shape someone’s life through golf, like my coach did for me, then I’m all in.”
