Carroll played its third game of the season on Tuesday, losing another close game 2-3 against Harford.

The Lynx found the first goal of the contest late in the first half on a free kick that rebounded to Nathan Burndley. Carroll held onto the lead through halftime, ending the first 1-0.

Harford answered back early in the second, scoring two goals 15 minutes into the half. Looking for an equalizer, Carroll drew a penalty kick off a handball in the 64th minute. Zach Gaegler's penalty kick was initially saved but a sloppy rebound by Harford's keeper allowed Gaegler to easily slot the ball into the net, evening the game at 2-2.

Harford took the lead shortly after Carroll's penalty kick, scoring on a free kick in the 77th minute. Carroll pushed the last 13 minutes to even the score and were able to get a few decent chances but fell just short, ending the game 2-3.

The contest was full of physicality on both sides, reflected by the 34 total fouls called (18 against Harford and 14 against Carroll). The fouls committed had a huge impact on that game as Carroll scored both their points off fouls and Harford's game winning goal came off a free kick.

The Lynx will look to bounce back at home against Hagerstown on Thursday, August 31st at 4 PM. A livestream to that event can be found on our YouTube channel, @CarrollCCEDU.
