Soccer Gets Back on Track

Men's soccer is back in the win column vs Cecil, winning at home 3-1.

Scoring started early as Daniel Wojtkowiak put away an excellent cross from Rudolf Colemean just 13 minutes into the match, making it 1-0. It seemed Carroll would hold this lead into halftime until an unfortunate bounce in front of net scored for Cecil with 5 seconds left in the half, tying the game 1-1.

Carroll quickly took back control in the second with Jeshua Jerusalum taking advantage of a goalkeeper mistake in the 55th minute to go up 2-1. The Lynx put the game away with 20 minutes to go as Daniel Wojtkowiak scored his second of the day off a beautiful assist from Jeshua Jerusalem, ending the contest 3-1.

Goalkeeper Eymeris Acevedo stole the show defensively, recording 9 saves on some well placed shots. Daniel Wojtkowiak is showing similarities to his brother, Lynx standout Eric Wojtkowiak, with a huge offensive performance of 2 goals.

Carroll is taking the weekend off and will hit the field again on Tuesday, September 26th against Anne Arundel.
