Joe started his coaching career as an Assistant Coach with CCBC Catonsville and has spent the last couple of years at Frederick Community College. In the 2022 season, the Cougars finished with a 12-5 record. They made it to the Region 20 Championship game losing to CCBC Essex. Five players were selected to the region 20 team. One player, David Diaz, was selected to the NJCAA All America Team. As an Interim Head Coach at FCC, in the 2021 season, the Cougars finished with an 8-5 record in the Division I NJCAA, losing to Montgomery Community College in the semifinals 1-0. Eight out of the twelve sophomores signed to a four-year university. He played an important role during the 2020-21 season as FCC men's soccer captured the school's first-ever Region XX DI Men's Soccer Championship. More importantly, the team recorded one of their highest GPAs in the history of the program.

Pratt earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology at UMBC and was a midfielder for the Retrievers. Pratt was part of the 2014 America East Championship team, being the first team in UMBC history to make it all the way to the Final Four losing to UVA by 1-0. Prior to UMBC, Pratt was at Tyler Junior College in Texas where he received his AA and won a National Championship. 

Joe is a full-time teacher at Glenwood Academy in Howard County and also coaches with the Soccer Association of Columbia MD (SAC). He is the Head Coach of Frederick Kings FC (UPSL) team. Joe lives in Frederick County with his wife Samantha and two Labrador Retrievers, Champ, and Fin.
