The Lynx track and field team is set to kick off their third season in just over a week, starting a four-meet schedule on April 8th at the Bison Classic.

Co-Head Coach Amanda Milewski envisions a great year in 2023, stating "We expect all of our athletes to perform well this season. They have been practicing hard and smart since the end of January and we look forward to watching their work pay off with great performances. We anticipate that our athletes will set a few school records this spring."

Carroll is returning two athletes from the 2022 season, runner Cameron Selmer and javelin thrower Madi Harper. They both have been “leaders in and out of practice for our freshman athletes” according to Co-Head Coach Justin Metzger. He continued, “Our athletes are dedicated and hard-working and Cam and Madi are to thank for leading by example."

Five new athletes join the group this year, participating in a wide variety of events. Julia Bassett (Liberty) and Cameron Klein (Liberty) go from the Lions to the Lynx, with Bassett competing as a pole vaulter and sprinter while Klein specializes in throwing events such as discus and shot put. Katarina Witham (Manchester Valley) is a long jumper, an event that the team did not participate in last year. Theo Beyer (Winters Mill) brings speed and endurance to the table, taking on running events. Cooper Neal (Century) is pole vaulter who doubles as a sprinter, similar to Bassett. The newcomers have impressed Milewski so far, explaining “they are all dedicated with a high work ethic. we expect them to contribute athletically but also to help us build a strong foundation for future generations of athletes."
