Lynx Split Tri-Match on Saturday

The Carroll Lynx played two matches at Allegany on Saturday, splitting those matches 1-1.

Vs. Allegany

The first game of the day was played against Allegany with Carroll falling by a score of 1-3.

The Lynx finished the first set with a close win of 25-23 but never reached the 20-point mark after. Even in defeat, Carroll was able to put up some impressive stats, including Lauren Guariglia's 7 total blocks. Karley Badorf and Maria Acaron tied at 9 for the team high in kills but Maria took the edge in kill percentage at 33%. Payton Zepp and Abigail Marley were the only two players to tally assists, getting 15 and 12 respectively. Sophia DiMaggio led defensively, recording 19 digs. Vs. Beaver County

Their second game against Beaver County was the complete opposite of the first, winning in a 3-0 sweep.

Carroll had full control of the match from the first serve, winning all sets by at least 9 points. Staci Kutzler aced 4 times in the game and recorded a block. Libero duo Madeline Maggio and Sophia DiMaggio held down their side of the court, combining for 17 digs. Setters Abigail Morley and Payton Zepp once again led the team in assists, putting up 17 assists between them. Full stats for this game can be found here.
