Track and Field Season Recap

Track and Field Season Recap

Carroll track and field finished their third season of competition two weeks ago, completing a four-meet schedule lead by Co-Head Coaches Amanda Milewski and Justin Metzger.

"The track and field athletes worked hard starting in January and that work paid off with some fabulous school-record-setting and personal-best performances during our competitive season in April," noted Coach Amanda Milewski. "Although the program is still small in numbers, we added a number of new events as athletes improved and wanted to take on more challenges. These included thrower Cameron Klein adding javelin to her skill set and Theo Beyer taking on the 3,000 meter steeplechase."

The season saw many school records broken and some new ones set which can be seen below.

Men’s Pole Vault – Cooper Neal with a jump of 4.10 m

Men’s 100 Meter Dash – Cooper Neal with a time of 12.19

Men’s 5000 Meter Run – Theo Beyer with a time of 18:51

Men’s 3000 Meter Steeplechase – Theo Beyer with a time of 12:36

Women’s Long Jump – Katarina Witham with a jump of 3.77 m

Women’s Javelin – Cameron Klein with a throw of 25 m

Women’s Discus – Cameron Klein with a throw of 27.93 m

Women’s Shot Put – Cameron Klein with a throw of 9.52 m

“This season, school records were set and some were reset on the men's side in the 100 meters, the 5,000 meters, the steeplechase and the pole vault. On the women's side, school records were set in the long jump, javelin, discus and shot put," confirmed Coach Justin Metzger. "These are a testament to the athletes' strong work ethic and dedication to improving throughout the season."

While the team enjoyed lots of success this season, they are unfortunately saying goodbye to a few sophomores.

"We will certainly miss the leadership provided by sophomores Madi Harper, Cooper Neal, and Cameron Selmer," remarked Milewski. "But we look forward to next season and the continued growth of the team. We know rising sophomores Julia Bassett, Theo Beyer, Cameron Klein, and Katarina Witham will provide support and direction to our new athletes."

Congratulations to the track and field team on another great season!
