Carroll Places Second at South River Shootout

The Lynx weathered the storm at the South River Shootout on Tuesday, coming in second place.

Conditions at South River were less than ideal as it rained all day Monday and was forecasted to continue through the match. Determined to get the match in, the teams went forward and agreed to deal with the bad weather. Unfortunately, the showers proved too much to handle and forced play to stop early, shortening the match to only nine holes.

Evan Appleby had an amazing day despite the circumstances, shooting just one stroke over par to tie for first. First-year Jamison Gouge was not far behind, scoring a 41 (five above par) to tie for fifth. Overall, the team finished second out of four, only losing to host school Anne Arundel.

The team's next contest is a quick turnaround, hosting a match at Oakmont Green on Thursday, April 4th. Given the weather the area has seen this week, it is safe to assume course conditions will be similar to South River.
