Second Annual Carroll Classic

Second Annual Carroll Classic

Carroll golf hosted their second NJCAA golf match at Oakmont Green on Thursday, finishing second.

Course conditions were better than expected after prolonged rain in the days prior but the wetness did affect play, making balls roll a shorter distance than normal. To make things even more difficult, the temperatures were in the low 50's, making for a wet and cold day on the course.

Jacob Gouge played in his first full match of the year and made his presence felt, finishing third overall shooting 82. His teammates were not too far behind, with Zach Taylor and Kamden Estes tying for seventh with 84's. tenth, eleventh, and twelfth were occupied by Jamison Gouge, Chris Howery, and Evan Appleby respectively. Overall, six Carroll golfers occupied the top twelve, all shooting 88 or better.

The Lynx end their season next week at the Region 20/MD JUCO Championships. The two events will be played simultaneously over two days on April 9th and 10th at Maryland National Golf Club, hosted by Hagerstown CC.
