Golf Heads in to Season Two with New Leader

Golf Heads in to Season Two with New Leader

Following the inaugural golf season last spring, Lee Bopst took over the program and is looking to move the sport forward at Carroll.

Bopst played golf at UMBC from 1990-92 and was awarded the teams unsung hero award in 91 for his performance in their conference tournament. Later in life, he started Carroll County Youth Golf, helping junior golfers take the next step into competitive golf. Many that have gone through Bopst's program succeeded greatly in high school, with some making it as far as the MD state tournament. On top of his work with youth golfers, he helped athletes of all ages as an Assistant Pro at the Country Club of Maryland.

Athletic Director Bill Kelvey is excited to move forward with Bopst, stating "we are grateful to have Lee here and we are extremely confident he will be able to elevate the program. Our inaugural year was a great success, and we are on track for even better with Lee at the helm."
