The Lynx faced off against the CCBC Essex Knights last Saturday, April 16th and lost 5-23.

The game started slowly for the Lynx, as they would give up nine unanswered goals before Alex Hillis put Carroll on the board. The first quarter ended 1-13.

Carroll stabilized in the second quarter, winning the quarter 3-2 to make the halftime score 4-15. Dahon Saunders and Logan Zeigenfuse scored in the quarter with Luke Drager holding the lone assist. This was the most even quarter of the game, with each team having similar shots (7-8 for Essex), saves (2-3 for Essex), clears (tied at 3) and turnovers (tied at 4).

Volunteer Coach Hunter Privette thought it was their best quarter of the year, claiming, "It was impressive to see them play like that especially after how the first quarter went. They saw an opportunity to claw back, and they took it."

The game got away from the Lynx after that, with Essex scoring seven in the third quarter to make it 4-22.

Scoring massively slowed  in the fourth, with both teams only putting up one goal. Surprisingly, both team's goals in the quarter came on man down opportunities, with Jake Kanther notching the score for the Lynx.

Head Coach Brady Slater thought the team played well, stating, "Not the score we would have liked to see but we played a solid game. The team competed the entire game even though they knew the win would be a tough task after the first half."

The Lynx take on the Harford Owls at home Tuesday, April 19th at 4 p.m.
