2024 Track and Field Season Preview

2024 Track and Field Season Preview

Carroll Lynx Track and Field grows four years old this year, fielding a team of nine.

Coaches Amanda Milewski and Justin Metzger expect that their returning athletes will step up and lead their track team, those athletes being Theo Beyer, Julia Bassett, Cameron Klein, and Katarina Witham. The newcomers they will be mentoring include Brooke Pribulick, Logan Rich, Carrie Moore, Caydon Selmer, and Kamryn Stefanoski. Milewski expects the first years to "contribute positively to the team and continue to build on the foundation established by previous Lynx track and field athletes."

Not only has the team been growing, the number of events they are competing in is on the rise as well. First-year Logan Rich will be competing in men's throwing events such as discus and shot put while first-year Carrie Moore will be competing in the women's high jump, both of which are new compared to last year. Coach Justin Metzger loves the trend he has seen the past four years and is excited to get into new events, stating, "Of course, we are always interested in growing the Carroll track and field program, not only in the number of athletes on the team but also in the number of events in which the athletes participate."

The team will compete in four meets this year, all familiar meets to years previous. The full schedule can be found here. There is a possibility the Lynx could go to the first ever Region 20/MD JUCO Championship meet, currently scheduled to be held at Howard Community College in May.

We are looking forward to another excellent season of Lynx Track and Field!
